Who is going to disagree?

Today during lunch Bella shared with everyone that Bella means 'Beautiful.
And then she shared that Austin means 'Angel.'
And that Logan means 'Life.'

And she is right.

Love to hear what they say!

Last night I was cleaning and getting ready for Nanny, Papa and Uncle Clint's visit. Bella and Logan were getting ready for bed while Brian and Austin were at a Tiger Scouts meeting. Logan came into the bathroom where I was cleaning, all flustered. "Momma I need to pick a princess and I have two girls, but I don't know which one to choose!" I said, "Well Logan, you can't have two princesses." He said, "How about I choose you Momma. Then, you can do my chores and come sleep with me in my big bed!"

My initial interpretation was that to my three year old, all I am good for is doing the chores and sleeping.

That was too funny not to share!

Never was alive -- but still perfect

Our Christmas tree was not previously alive like Grandma and PopPop's, but the children had a fun time helping me put it together and decorate it last weekend. There was a discussion though - star or angel on the top of the tree. ... but we have a Santa Claus ???

Picking just the right one

Over Thanksgiving weekend, we visited Minnesota and Wisconsin. While we stayed with Grandma and PopPop in Wisconsin, we helped PopPop pick out the perfect Christmas Tree from their farm. Logan really enjoyed the ride, "It was really bumpy!"

Then, we came home to a winter wonderland and brought Frosty to our front yard....and one week later, he's about to be joined by 6 more inches of snow! Who said Iowa doesn't get snow???

Happiness

This past couple of weeks have shown my family how important we are to each other. And I have realized how important it is to appreciate happiness in the moment.

The weekend of October 3rd, 4th and 5th was exciting, happy and sad all in one. The kids and I stayed with Grandma and PopPop and on Saturday, discovered a fun Pumpkin Patch with a Corn Maze and Haunted Hay Ride! On Sunday, we weathered the cold and rain and watched Gram run in the Twin Cities Marathon, succeeding in her goal to qualify for the Boston Marathon! And, we met sweet Baby John for the first time!

We missed Grandpa very much this weekend, but we all know that he was smiling down on us and that he was really proud of Gram. And we know that he was happy that she was surrounded by many of their kids and their grandbabies to celebrate the day.

It was a good weekend to be with family.
